Dear Ward Member,
Please remember to check your Photocard Driving Licence.
If you have a photocard driving licence, then you need to check it. The photocard driving licence needs renewing every 10 years, as it has an expire date.
There are about half million people who are driving around in the UK with an expired driving licence after failing to renew and are therefore driving without a valid licence.
This could put you at risk of getting a fine of up to £1000.00 for failing to update your photocard licence and three to six penalty points if you are caught driving with an expired licence, if found guilty, along with this your vehicle can be seized at the roadside and your motor insurance policy will be invalid.
Renewing your driving licence is your responsibility, checking you driving licence is easy, on your photo driving licence look at the front of the card and under the title 4b, will show you the expiry date.
To renew your licence visit www.gov.uk/renew-driving-licence where you will find all the information needed before starting your application, or you can visit your local post office with a copy of your DVLA letter, providing the post office deals with renewals. | ||
